The artist feels very lucky to live near Galleywood Common, part of which is woodland, giving me the opportunity to have early morning walks through the trees. In this watercolour I tried to capture the early morning light while looking out of the wood to the open common. It was all painted on the spot (plein air) using my paints and a 12mm flat brush using a loose style, working at speed before the sun moved out of position.
