Alison graduated in Graphic Design in 1990 from Northumbria University and now works as a professional freelance illustrator and printmaker. She lives and works in her garden studio, in a village just outside Cambridge. Alison takes part in the Cambridge Open Studios project which is very popular in the area and a great way of visiting artists including Alison!
As well as designing for the stationery industry, she also produces her own range of prints and products which she supplies to a few select galleries around the country, including Wonky Wheel. Her artwork includes prints, coasters, cards and screen printed tea towels. Her printmaking work is inspired by subjects she sees on her daily walks with Ollie the dog; from skeletal winter trees to close-up studies of seed heads, birds and the Fen landscape.
She uses various techniques in her work including pen and ink, oils, watercolours and also combining hand-drawn images with digital technology. Her printmaking methods include collography, linoprinting and dry-point. Here at the gallery we love her artwork and always have a great selection in stock and on display.
